Hallowtide to Advent at Catholic All Year: a Giveaway, an Announcement, and Liturgical Living Resources to Help!

by | Oct 22, 2021 | A Few of My Favorite Things, Blog, Catholic All Year Shop | 7 comments

The month of November fast approaches, and that means liturgical living is about to crank into high gear. We’ve got All Hallows’ Eve, All Saints’ Day, and the Holy Souls all month long . . . then the SO MANY (too many?) beautiful devotional opportunities of Advent. Are you ready?

I believe that we at Catholic All Year can help make both seasons more meaningful and less stressful. Yes, even Advent. Seriously. Keep reading to the bottom.

First off, I have a fun little behind the scenes announcement.

Emily is joining the Catholic All Year team full-time! (Learn more about Emily here and check out this amazing little video of how things got to this point here.) She and I have been working together on the Liturgical Living Subscription Boxes and we think we make a pretty great team. We have so many more ideas in store for you guys!

Her former “Pillar and Pearl” Instagram is now the CAY Marketplace account: @catholicallyearmarket !

There is a LOT more in store for the Catholic All Year Marketplace, but for starters, it will be the Instagram home of CAY products, discounts, giveaways, & ideas for celebrating the liturgical year. (You’ll still find feast day graphics, stories of saints, & Catholic history at @catholicallyear and photos of liturgical living in practice & life in the Tierney house at @kendra_tierney.)

To celebrate we are giving away a set of CAY Hallowtide resources and a copy of the new 2022 CAY Wall Calendar!

There will be THREE WINNERS! One winner will be on the @catholicallyearmarket IG account, so go follow there and look for the giveaway post, one from yesterday’s email newsletter (sign up for those here) and one winner will be chosen from the comments on this blog post (you must be signed in to your CAY account to comment, it’s free and we won’t contact you at all if you’re not subscribed to emails). Just check out the CAY limited-edition box items and let us know your favorite thing in the shop in the comments of this post. U.S. mailing addresses only, please.

The winners will be chosen on Sunday and will receive:

Can’t wait?

From today through Sunday, enjoy 15% off physical, limited-edition box items and all three versions of the 2022 Wall Calendar with the code: “caymarket”.

I’m SO excited to use this beeswax candle and gold foil detail banner in our home for the whole month of November to help us remember our duty (and honor) to pray for our beloved dead. And I always say that a wall calendar was my first and is still my most important tool for making liturgical living in the home happen. I can’t celebrate something if I don’t know when it is!

In other upcoming Hallowtide news, we just shot a new CAY Liturgical Living Video about how to make quick and easy saint costumes . . . out of t-shirts! I’ll be sharing that soon, along with a roundup of CAY Saint Costume posts, so keep an eye out.

And finally . . . I told you I can help make your Advent more meaningful and less stressful. I know. It sounds impossible. 😆

I’ve got an upcoming post (and online talk, more on that later) about all the very many devotions of the Advent season. By my count there are at least eight multi-day traditions over the course of Advent, plus many more particular saints’ day traditions. Whatever we do can feel like too much and not enough all at the same time.

But I want to help. I really do.

And I think I can with the Advent Subscription Box.

Just look at it, all neat and tidy like that. It’s a fun and meaningful Advent for folks of all ages and seasons. In a box. It’s got foods, prayers, decor, and activities to cover you from November 30 to December 24.

Let’s take a closer look.

Get all the details and a list of exactly what’s in the box at the listing here.

There are 350 new subscriptions left right now, and when they’re gone, they’re gone. After that, for the time being, we will maintain our 1000 subscribers only and new subscriptions will just open up in ones and twos as people drop off between boxes. So if you’ve ever been curious about giving the boxes a try. This is the time to get in the door!

So . . . quick recap.

  • Please join Grace and me in welcoming Emily, officially, to the CAY family.

  • Use the code “caymarket” to get 15% off wall calendars and box shop products through Sunday.

I love my St. Martha spoonrest: slaying the dragon of kitchen drudgery. Who knew she had experience with dragons? A woman spends the first half of her life wondering who she’s going to marry, and the second half of her life wondering what she’s going to make for dinner.

Congrats on expanding your team and growing your business and ministry.

My favorite item is the eternal rest candle (I just purchased one). I have always had a strong calling to pray for the holy souls in purgatory every day of the year, but I lost my Mom this year (COVID) so my prayers this All Souls Day and for the Month of November are even more poignant.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.

While browsing your products, I discovered the May crown kit. How fun! I’ll have to try that next year!

It’s a tie between the mission postcards and the vinyl sticker of the Holy Family Hearts. : D

My favorite things so far are the fairy tale prayer book and the cofession book for children. As a newbie Catholic those have been very very helpful to me…but the prayer companion and the compendium are also amazing!

Hi! I’m Kendra.

For twenty years now, I’ve been using food, prayer, and conversation based around the liturgical calendar to share the lives of the saints and the beautiful truths and traditions of our Catholic faith. My own ten children, our friends and neighbors, and people just like you have been on this journey with me.

If you’d like to learn more about what Catholics believe and why, and to be inspired by saints from every era all over the world, you’ve come to the right place. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with the prospect of how to teach your kids about the faith in a way that’s true, engaging, and lasts a lifetime, we can help!
