Happy Solemnity of the Annunciation! 👼📣 For what we’ll be doing to celebrate, see this post. tl:dr 🧇🙏

This Easter bunny seems to capture the general zeitgeist, no?

Strange times these are, my friends! It’s been a very Lenty Lent don’t you think? But Easter will come! For many of us it will come like an Easter version of the Grinch: without public Masses, without the Sacraments, without egg hunts, without brunches, and without Amazon Prime for (nonessential) Easter basket goodies . . .

but EASTER WILL COME and we will celebrate!

Many of you have asked exactly how to celebrate Easter at home when churches are closed down. I am working on some resources to help with that. They’ll be finished by next week, I hope. In the meantime, I figure you might be scrambling for good stuff for Easter baskets. Fortunately, I’ve checked with my favorite Catholic small businesses and they are still shipping!

Here are some favorite Catholic gifts from my favorite Catholic makers!

Thank you so much for this list! I can’t wait to get shopping!

I have also thought that this Easter might be very “Grinch-like” and just like the Grinch, our hearts are growing stronger and hungrier for God and what Easter is all about!

Thanks for all you do Kendra to keep us going with sanity!

  2. Liz

Thank you Kendra for taking the time to share these wonderful resources and ways to help.
God Bless you and your home

  3. Amanda

Good thing I got books from ignatius when you had codes 🙂 hopefully Kroger has chocolate!

  4. Lindsay Aldridge

Thank you so much. It’s so convenient to have all of these ideas in one place. Even for future Easters!
I have been on the lookout for a banner to put on our mantle bearing our favorite “A” word to say in the Easter season (that we do not say during Lent if you’re catching what I’m pitching 🙂 ). Do you have a suggestion? I can make one if needed, just wondering if any good sources out there first.

  5. Julie

Thanks for your suggestions on other sites to buy items. I especially appreciate your shout-out to SockReligious…that is a company local to where I live, and they had just taken on a new staff member as the coronavirus crisis came to a head, so I know they would appreciate all of the orders they can get. Their newest sock is Padre Pio!

However, Amazon can still get some items prior to Easter, depending on what they are. I just looked at a book to order my dad for his birthday next Tuesday, and Amazon says it would arrive between April 1-8 if I order today. So if there is something you desperately need from Amazon prior to Easter, I would recommend getting your order in in the next few days!

Can you please, pretty please put your spiritual communion print on your digital shop soon?

    • Kendra

Yes! It’s on my to do list!

  10. Susie Green

This is so great! I had a hard time purchasing the dowel rods from the link. I found them here: https://www.craftparts.com/product-category/dowels-dowel-rods/12-hardwood-dowel-rods/

I think that this is the same place that sells the eggs that you linked to. They must have added to the collection: https://www.craftparts.com/product-category/eggs-fruits/wooden-eggs/

I would never have found these items or had the creativity to think about these great ideas on my own! -haha

    THANK YOU!

    • Kendra

      Thank you for this update!

I have a question about the eggs. I hope this doesn’t sound dumb but if you put the wooden eggs in water will they mold? I ordered those and the wraps for the kids but started thinking about it. Thanks for this post Kendra! I really appreciate you taking the time to put it together. Our Easter baskets will no longer be sad 😉

    • Kendra

No, you just dunk them in boiling water for a couple seconds, so they don’t get soaked through. Ours turned out really well.

      You’re welcome!

Hi! I’m Kendra.

For twenty years now, I’ve been using food, prayer, and conversation based around the liturgical calendar to share the lives of the saints and the beautiful truths and traditions of our Catholic faith. My own ten children, our friends and neighbors, and people just like you have been on this journey with me.

If you’d like to learn more about what Catholics believe and why, and to be inspired by saints from every era all over the world, you’ve come to the right place. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with the prospect of how to teach your kids about the faith in a way that’s true, engaging, and lasts a lifetime, we can help!
