Counting to forty after Grace before meals is a longstanding Lenten tradition in our home. It’s a quick little reminder that it’s Lent, and a simple and easy sacrifice that the whole family can do together. This printable works as a visible reminder in the home that it’s Lent, and, if it’s up in the dining area, a reminder of the counting before meals devotion. It also works as a simple Lent Countdown Calendar. Just cross off one number each day Monday through Saturday. (Sundays aren’t counted as part of the forty days of Lent, thus the number of days from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday is actually forty-six days.)
