In this booklet, you’ll find all the Bible passages, prayers, songs, and devotions that our family uses throughout the month of May, and the end of Eastertide to enhance our family prayer life and our liturgical living in the home. All the Catholic All Year monthly prayer booklets are designed to be used year after year, and this booklet can be used any year, no matter when Easter falls.
I created this booklet to keep from having to wade through all the different versions of prayers available online, and because I really prefer paper over screens when I’m praying. For all the history, tradition, and backstories surrounding these prayers, blessings, and devotions and the feast days to which they are attached, please consult the Catholic All Year Compendium.
May is truly a glorious month on the liturgical calendar. The entire month is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and in May it is always the Easter season, for at least most of the month. In this booklet, you will find devotions, hyms, and prayers dedicated to Our Lady, including the oldest known prayer to Mary (copies of which date from the 3rd century), a script for an at home (or anywhere) May Crowning, the Litany of Loreto, the Angelus, the Regina Caeli, the Magnificat, and—her favorite—the Rosary.
Prayers and devotions for May saint’s days include the Litany of St. Joseph for St. Joseph the Worker, prayers given to the children by Our Lady of Fatima, the Cristero Prayer in honor of the Mexican martyrs, prayers and novenas for St. Rita and St. Joan of Arc, and prayers and a Bible reading for the feast of the Visitation.
We’ve got some of those tricky moveable feasts in here as well. The Pentecost Novena is the granddaddy of all novenas and the only novena officially commanded for worldwide use by multiple popes, including JPII. It begins the Friday after Ascension Thursday (even if the observation of the Ascension is transferred to the next Sunday) and continues through the vigil of Pentecost the next week. You’ll also find prayers and Bible readings for the feast of the Ascension, Pentecost, and Trinity Sunday. Corpus Christi and the feast of the Sacred Heart will be in the Catholic All June booklet. To help you keep track of it all, you’ll find a list of the dates of moveable feasts from 2019 through 2029.
Happy spring and Eastertide!

You get a 44 page pdf file, that can be printed as individual pages, but I recommend opening the pdf in Adobe (there is a free version available for download here) and printing it as a booklet on 11 pieces of paper. For best results print on high quality paper (like 24 weight). Lighter weight paper will work, but there will be more show through from the back.
Your purchase entitles you to print this booklet as many times as you’d like for your own household’s personal use. Please do not share the digital files or print the booklet for others. Thank you! For an extended license, that allows printing the items from one listing for classrooms, groups, or extended family, please see this listing.
